Requirements
Specific duties include, but are not limited to following:
·     Responsible for sign in and sign out sheets and making sure they are updated.

·     Making sure no strangers are in the building by checking all of the facility rooms.
Â
·     Will be allowed to leave the premises to go to a school or community event if needed.
Â
·     Responsible for maintaining order of staff and residents behavior.
Â
·     Making sure all doors at night and during the day are locked.
Â
·     Maintaining all thirty-two (32) cameras in all areas.
Â
·     Perform checks of all physical cameras in and out of the building making sure they are secure and not damaged or broken.
Â
·     Making sure no one brings in illegal drugs or weapons.
Â
·     Responsible for doing a one on one direct care in dealing with behavior issues.
Â
·     Make sure no one is smoking on the premises.
Â
·     Making sure no locks are put on closets.
Â
·     Making sure no weapons were created from items ie. Pens.
Â
·     Making sure no personal property of staff or residents is removed from the building.
Â
·     Check for signs of any possible items that can contribute to self inflicted violence or demise or hurt ex. Hangers, frayed wires, pieces of wood etc.
Â
·     Responsible for maintaining physical restraints.
Â
·     Completing required forms and incident reports.
Â
·     Be able to assist with the procedure during a 302 situation.
Â
·     Being there to assist during day trips.
·     Responsible for maintaining walkie talkies are accounted for.
Â
·     Doing inspections of all rooming units not limited to bedrooms at night.
Â
·     Having first aid knowledge and maintaining first aid kit.
Â
·     Certified in CPR and performing CPR if needed.
Â
·     Find out about and assist in any 201’s or 302’s report to supervisor if needed.
Â
·     Assistant in handling any altercations amongst staff and/or residents.

Qualifications
Â
A Security shall have the following:
Â
·      High School diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate.
Â
·      Must have good health in order to maintain an acceptable attendance record as established by the agency.
Â
·      Must be able to assist with lifting objects or residents (a minimum of 50 pounds for a one person lift and 150 pounds for a two person lift) utilizing approved techniques.
Â
·      All staff will be required to participate in prescribed annual training.
Â
·      The Residential Mentor must be able to work rotating shifts, and the ability to arrive in emergencies within 30 minutes.
Â
·      Bi-lingual is a plus.
Â
Persons in this position are required to maintain licenses in good standing, if applicable. All candidates must pass a Child Abuse Clearance and Pennsylvania Criminal Record search, plus an FBI criminal history clearance if resident outside Pennsylvania. All staff will be required to participate in prescribed annual training.
